Privacy Policy

Effective date: 3 September 2026

Alpha Zulu Log is designed to keep your pilot logbook data under your control. The app does not require an Alpha Zulu Log user account and does not use a developer-operated server to store your logbook.

Information stored by the app

The app may store information that you enter or import, including flight details, aircraft information, crew or pilot names, flight times, routes, remarks, roster information and other logbook-related records.

On-device storage

Your logbook database is stored locally within the app's protected storage on your device.

iCloud backup

If iCloud is available and enabled for the app, Alpha Zulu Log may save automatic backup copies of your logbook to your personal iCloud container. These backups are associated with your Apple account and are handled through Apple's iCloud services.

Manual backups and exports

You can create manual backups and exports. When you choose to export or save a file, the destination is selected by you using Apple's system file interfaces. You are responsible for the security of files once exported from the app.

Calendar access

If you choose to use calendar-based roster import, Alpha Zulu Log may request access to calendars available on your device. Calendar information is used to identify and import relevant roster or flight information into the app. Calendar access is not required for normal manual logbook use.

Data collection by the developer

Alpha Zulu Log does not currently transmit your logbook data to the developer for storage, advertising or profiling.

Third-party services

Apple services, including iCloud and the operating system's document and calendar frameworks, may process data according to Apple's own terms and privacy policies.

Data retention and deletion

Your logbook remains on your device until you delete it, remove the app and its data, or restore or replace the database using the app's data-management tools. iCloud backup copies may remain in your iCloud account until removed or replaced in accordance with Apple's iCloud behaviour.

Children

Alpha Zulu Log is an aviation record-keeping tool and is not directed specifically at children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when app functionality or data-handling practices change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
